Adorable Ethan – Hampton Roads Baby Photographer

This past winter I announced a newborn casting call to test out my new large softbox and this little guy’s mommy replied. Unfortunately, they ended up not being able to make it to my studio at that time. Fast forward 4 months. Sabine asked me to photograph him since he was getting bigger and I was very happy to! We went to a nice park but a tropical storm was beginning to roll in and Ethan was a bit fussy. So we decided to try again in my studio in a few days. He was in a much better mood when they arrived Tuesday! He gave me lots of smiles and coos! We had hoped to get big brother Aiden for a couple shots with his baby bro but he wasn’t interested. That’s okay though! I snuck a couple shots of just him without him realizing it I forgot how fun it is to photograph babies at these milestones!!!!

Beautiful Family Maternity Session – Hampton Roads Maternity Photographer

This sweet family is new to the Hampton Roads and they are waiting on baby boy! It had been a while since I’ve been to Sandy Bottom Nature Park so I was excited to shoot there again. It is so gorgeous there right now! Lots of green, tall trees and ivy. A really great place for family and maternity portraits! Jamila is due next month, right after I come back from vacation. We are hoping the timing is just right so I can still photograph the little guy!

They were such naturals and happily let me be a little direct in posing. I love how my clients trust me 100% in their whole portrait experience. You can tell there’s a lot of love in this family and they cannot wait until their family becomes 4!!!

My Cute Little Boys – Hampton Roads Maternity, Newborn, Baby, Birthday Photographer

This week, along with editing and scheduling summer sessions (hello winter deployment homecoming baby boom!), I have been studying light. I am always learning new techniques! Yesterday I set up my studio with some super simple set ups. I asked Caleb if he could help me out and model for me. I styled his hair, left him shirtless and put a polka dot bowtie on him. It’s been a while since I’ve taken pro level pics of my boys so he was pretty excited. And then Gavin wanted in on the action! I am very lucky to have 2 little boys who LOVE to model for me!!! At the end I asked Caleb to lay on my bean bag like a newborn so I could test lighting in that scenario. I didn’t start photography until he was 2.5 and he never got professional newborn pictures done. It was pretty cute how he posed for me and pretended to be sleeping just like a newborn! I love my little guys so much and I am grateful they were happy to help their mommy!!!!
